As specials design editor, I was in charge of designing the 2023 Sex Edition. Every year, The Daily UW publishes a specials edition that focuses on "Sex" during February (specifically around Valentine's Day). The theme we chose for this edition was Playboy, so it was my goal for the design to mimic their style. We directed and ran a photoshoot to get media in the Playboy style, and I art-directed and organized the main concept for production.
This cover won first place in the Spring 2023 ACP Clips & Clicks competition for Newspaper Front Page.
These are the two alternate covers, one for the front and the back of the edition. The illustrations in the center was done by Lee Hardisy but the graphic elements and typography was done by me. The front cover won first place for Newspaper Front Page Design in the Spring 2023 ACP Clips and Clicks contest, which can be found here.
